Mulled Wine

Allspice and cloves are also used to make mulled wine, a perennial holiday favorite. The custom of drinking wine at Christmas celebrations is an ancient one. Vitis vinifera native to Asia Minor was one of the Biblical symbols of peace and plenty.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 teaspoon of allspice
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 tablespoons sweet cinnamon chips
  • 1 teaspoon dried orange peel
  • 1 vanilla bean, split
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 2 ounces brandy
Allspice * Cinnamon * Clove * Orange * Vanilla *
Recipe Instructions: :Heat but do not boil. Strain, or just let the spices settle to the bottom and serve from the top. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and freshly ground nutmeg, Serve warm
