Kava and chamomile

Kava-kava is a good remedy for anxiety. My favorite way of taking it is in liquid extract form to avoid the unpleasant tastes of the traditional drinks. During the day a few drops of kava-kava tincture in a cup of green tea calms nerves without making you sleepy. In the evening relax with chamomile and lemongrass tea enhanced with kava-kava extract.

Ingredients:
  • 1 tsp skullcap
  • 1 tsp lemongrass
  • 1 tsp chamomile
  • 3 cups of water

Recipe Instructions: Tincture :Infuse herbs in hot water in a your teapot for 5 to 6 minutes. Pour your tea, then add 4 to 5 drops of kava-kava tincture to your cup. The alcohol evaporates in the hot tea, releasing the the active constituents, kava lactones, behind. You can adjust the measure up or down when you get a feel for how it affects you.
