Lemon - Citrus Sports Drink

Dehydration whether caused by overexertion in heat or illness is serious. Expensive sports drinks all have the same ingredients in common, sugar, salt, potassium and citric acid. They also contain junk like HFS and added chemical dyes. Try this simple, homemade version to re-hydrate when working out or whenever you need it.

Ingredients:
  • Bottled water 2 cups (8 fl oz.)
  • Sugar 5 teaspoons
  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  • 1 teaspoon citric acid
  • Lemon or Lime essential oil 4 drops
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley juice (optional, adds potassium)

Variations:Fresh lemon juice may be used instead of the essential oil
Recipe Instructions: :Mix well to get all the sugar and salt suspended in the water. Drink chilled for faster hydration.
