Noni juice recently toped the list of best selling botanicals published by the Nutrition Business Journal, beating out such perennial favorites as green tea and Echinacea. Noni juice is far from a new fad, however, the fruit and other parts of the tree have been used traditional Ayuverdic and Polynesian medicin for centuries. Traditional uses of noni include diabetes, infectious diseases, and topical applications to treat burns and cuts. Herbalists prefer to use powdered noni, not the juice, which is only available in fresh form in Polynesia. Noni juice is touted for its high Vitamin C content.

Noni for :Cardiovascular/Cancer |
In laboratory research, noni has shown antioxidant, immune-stimulating, and tumor-fighting properties. These results suggest that noni may warrant further study for conditions such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. However, noni has not been well studied in people for any health condition. . Noni for :diarrhea and dysentery/gum and mouth ulcers |
IThere are a number of traditional uses for Noni, but little if any solid science to back it up has been published to date. According to the Duke ethobotanical database, Morinda Citrifolia is analgesic, used in wound healing and mouth ulcers, diarrhea and dysentery, fevers, rheumatism, and as a purgative amoung other uses. Traditional healers use all parts of the tree (leaves, flowers, fruits, bark, roots) as tonics. . Morinda citrifolia. (), Duke Ethnobotanical Database |
