Dandelion, watercress sandwiches

Come with me into the garden and carry my basket for me. Between us we will half fill it with dandelion leaves, choosing the fresh, young ones, and then we'll walk out of the little gate in the hew hedge and across the plank-bridge over the little stream, and if we look on the damp banks and in the water itself we shall find watercress in plenty. On our way back we'll have a handful of nasturtium leaves as well, and once indoors we'll put them under the tap and give them a thorough washing. We'll get all the leaves clean, slice them small, cut some thin slices of brown bread and butter, and make sandwiches. If you'll eat those freely, whether they are all watercress or all dandelion, or a mixture as I have advised, take my word for it you will find your health improved and your complexion will make everyone else envious.
