Mistletoe Tea

Mistletoe tea

Mistletoe tea is made from the dried leaves of the European genus, Viscum album. Mistletoe tea is used to treat the symptoms of high blood pressure, headaches, and is said to give relief from snoring. Mistletoe is not often used alone as a primary treatment, but is combined with other herbal nervines such as vervain and valerian.

Cautions: Use only the dried leaves, never the berries. Not for long term use, not for use in children. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (PDA) lists this plant as "unsafe," most likely because the berries are toxic. Still, caution should be used and those not familiar with the use of herbs should consult an herbal practitioner before use.
